Ms. Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

Listen, I get why it's heralded as one of the greatest albums of all time, but it's just not my thing.

With ears based off today's mixing and technology, the album sounds dated. Everything sounds bubble gum, glossy, and cookie cutter from a time when music, much like CGI at the time, was still trying to find it's flooring.

Very much a child of it's time; yet somehow light-years ahead of the curve. You can't deny that the musicianship is impeccable, the guitar is sharp, the beats were fresh, the lyrics are raw. A genre hopping master class that was unheard of at the time. Despite all that... It sounds very 90s.

Again, I get it, it's not for me.
