One Battle After Another

Somehow both dystopian and hopeful, OBAA hits the right chords across multiple genres. Leo, intentional or not, is hilarious in his dark portrayal of Jason Bourne esque resistance member who wants nothing more than to retire and be a good dad.

Sean Penn plays the anti-Spicoli in every respect. One of the best villains in recent memory.

A social commentary that's both dark and haunting while still maintaining hope while subverting the tropes of major cinema spectacle as often as possible.
